Spring AC Tune-Up
Before cooling season, we check refrigerant, clean the coils, test the capacitor and compressor, clear the condensate drain, and check airflow, so your AC is ready for the first 95-degree day instead of failing on it.
Looking for an HVAC tune-up in Northern Virginia? Leonard Splaine's seasonal tune-ups keep your AC and heating running efficiently and catch small problems before they become no-cool or no-heat emergencies.
Why us?
Serving Northern Virginia
Most no-cool and no-heat emergencies trace back to a part that was quietly failing for months. A seasonal tune-up catches those early, when they're a cheap fix instead of an emergency. Twice a year, spring for cooling and fall for heating, we run a full multi-point check on your system: refrigerant, coils, combustion, electrical, airflow, and safety, and give you a straight report on anything starting to wear.
A tune-up is only as good as the tech running the checklist. Ours are certified Leonard Splaine employees, backed by a company that has tuned Northern Virginia systems through seventy years of summers and winters, and our standing as a Lennox Premier Dealer and Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor means the factories trust our work too.
Booking is the easy part. Call at whatever hour suits you, a real voice picks up, and you choose a spring or fall slot that fits your week. Same-day openings come up more often than you'd think.
Our Services
A full multi-point check on your cooling and heating, twice a year, across Northern Virginia. One-off tune-ups are $125 for HVAC or generators, and members get theirs included.
Before cooling season, we check refrigerant, clean the coils, test the capacitor and compressor, clear the condensate drain, and check airflow, so your AC is ready for the first 95-degree day instead of failing on it.
Before heating season, we test combustion, inspect the heat exchanger, clean the burners and flame sensor, check the igniter and blower, and change the filter, so your furnace is safe and reliable when the cold hits.
Dirty coils are one of the biggest quiet drains on efficiency. We clean the condenser and evaporator coils so your system sheds heat properly, cools faster, and runs on less power.
Any gas-burning system has to be safe before it's efficient. We test combustion, check the flue and draft, and screen for carbon monoxide, so your heat runs clean and safe all winter.
We check refrigerant against factory spec and test the electrical side, capacitors, contactors, and connections, and catch weak parts before they leave you without cooling or heat when you need it most.
A clogged filter chokes airflow and makes the whole system strain. Every tune-up we check and change the filter and check airflow, so your system heats and cools evenly and doesn't overwork.
Brands
We repair every major brand and install new systems from the best of them. We're a Lennox Premier Dealer and a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor.

Lynn Gilbertson Google review Kyle provided emergency holiday weekend service when our a/c was completely out with 104F "feels like" temperatures. He quickly diagnosed and fixed our system, with solutions for avoiding similar problems in the future. We are grateful to Kyle and Leonard Splaine!
Katie Kada Facebook recommendation Couldn't have asked for better service! Leonard Splaine was timely, honest and did a wonderful job replacing our very outdated AC unit. We plan to use them again for any service or replacement in the future and we'll recommend them to our friends and family.
I will definitely use this company again! Our AC went out on one of the hottest days of the year. They answered and came to the rescue! Family owned and very kind. Technician was knowledgeable and quick.
Ankur Mundra Facebook recommendation I've used Leonard Splaine the last 5 years. They are professional, provide quality service, and answer my questions and concerns. Michael Ford came out this year to do my spring maintenance as well as eztrap installation and condenser coil cleaning. He did an excellent job.
Candace Bond Google review They were such gentlemen and seemed to be very knowledgeable and honest. They were also very patient and took the time to answer all of our questions. I would highly recommend these guys.
A/C stopped working on the hottest day of the year, so far. They came over the same day and had it up and running in no time. The price was reasonable and the tech was great.

Good questions
The questions Northern Virginia homeowners ask us most about seasonal tune-ups. Anything else, the phone's faster than the internet.
Twice a year is ideal: an AC tune-up in spring and a heating tune-up in fall. If you have a heat pump that runs year-round, twice a year is especially important since it works in both seasons.
A full multi-point check: refrigerant, coils, capacitors and electrical, condensate drain, combustion and heat exchanger on gas systems, airflow, and the filter, plus a report on anything starting to wear.
Most emergency calls trace to a part that was failing for months, a weak capacitor, low refrigerant, a dirty coil. A tune-up catches those before they leave you without heat or cooling.
